"What’s your favorite color? My favorite color is the color of new leaves in Spring. That green makes me smile no matter where I see it - on a wall, on clothes or in a painting. The funny thing is that lately I’ve been painting blue paintings. I like to plan a painting around a color and then create a visual path through it. Focusing on a subject allows me to do this and helps me capture the feeling that I’m seeing my favorite places and things again."

The Colors of Hope in Flight

"Through my freelance photography, I document the resilience found in nature’s simplest gestures. The Colors of Hope in Flight serves as a visual metaphor for the journey toward renewal. By emphasizing light and vibrant color, I create "photographic paintings" that celebrate the persistence of spirit. I believe that art should act as a mirror for our highest aspirations, reflecting the light even in moments of profound change."

"Palisades Abstract 2 grows out of years of looking closely at the cliffs along the Hudson observing early mornings, shifting light, changing seasons. I’m not describing them, but responding to their structure, their strength, and the feeling they hold. Color carries that bold, open, and intuitive response. These cliffs have been a constant in my life. In their steadiness, I find both joy and a quiet, enduring sense of hope."

"At the heart of my artwork lies a fascination with the interplay of fantasy and truth. My creations speak to a realm where stories and symbols come alive, where ancient tales are reimagined through a state-of-the-art viewpoint. The result is a body of work that honors the past while challenging contemporary perceptions of femininity, identity, and self-expression. Through my art, I offer a playful yet profound exploration of the desires and dreams that shape the female experience."

"Sundance In the summer of 2021, my mother faced very serious health problems that led her into a coma. Sitting by her side and holding her hand in the ICU, I would play music for her for hours of her favorite songs and I would sing at the top of my lungs, praying that eventually the power of music and love would wake her and bring her back to us. Multiple miracles occurred, and she awoke, at first squeezing my hand, and eventually spelling out “I LOVE U” in the air with her free hand, as she was unable to speak because of the tubes. As her health improved, we were able to bring her on a family vacation to North Wildwood, NJ. From her room, she was able to view the ocean and the sunrise every morning. One of the songs I played for her daily during her ICU stay was Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.” This painting is a recreation of one of the morning sunrises of that miraculous summer. Giving new purpose to found unused construction materials, plexiglass was chosen for its translucency, providing an ethereal quality. This painting captures the serenity and glorious power of the new day as nature gifts upon those who awaken, a choice to dance."

"In Japan, the practice of decompressing in nature is called Shinrin Yoku. I have adopted this practice and find it beneficial, especially creatively. For the past two years I have been working on a college collection inspired by nature. Exhale the Noise is a mixed media collage created with paint, preprinted paper, tissue paper, and mark-making. Nature has many facets and I use color intentionally to highlight how nature can be unexpected and playful."

"As a photographer my vision documents the African American community. In 2015, prestigious author and editor Dr. Toni Morrison and the African American Historical Society of Rockland County inaugurate “The Bench By the Road” in Memorial Park, Nyack, NY. The international rod iron benches serve as absences of historical markers to help remember the lives of Africans who were enslaved throughout the Americas. For me this image represents the Color of Hope."

"As a photographer I seek to create images that are both visually stunning and emotionally resonant that would shed a different perspective on social injustices. I lost my father at an early age, this ignited my passion for preserving memories and emotions in a world that is constantly changing , I am inspired by the beauty of nature and human experiences. I'm driven by a desire to amplify the issues that affect our societies and to invoke empathy and action in those who view my work. Through my photography, I aim to tackle issues such as the importance of wildlife conservation with links to illicit activities, and environmental degradation, revealing the complex web of social issues and how we can all contribute to solutions. I hope to create a sense of empathy and curiosity, to spark conversations, and to inspire collective action in our communities towards a more equitable world. My photography is a ‘call to conscience’ and aims to connect with audiences by creating compelling images to generate emotions that will inspire action for social change, shape our understanding of the world, and leaves them with a meaningful visual experience.“Let’s generate emotions and see impactful change together.”

"I painted as a form of meditation, not knowing where each mark would lead, but trusting the process. The colors came as feelings first— green for release, soft coral for warmth, blue for the weightless mind. These are not landscapes, though they feel like places. They are spaces between thoughts, between obstacles, between before and after."

"I consider myself a realist and find photographs to help me accurately represent my subjects. Then I draw. Once a basic outline is completed, I play with the shapes, planes and lines to merge them into rhythmic patterns. Sooner or later, I'll decide to paint my subject. The difference between the two media relates to color and texture. I've invested much time with Joseph Albers color theory using his prescriptive rectangles and squares."

After the war in Ukraine began, I started painting sunflowers. Radiant with color, they stand strong and tall. As they turn toward the sun, they symbolize resilience, and an unwavering optimistic spirit."
